Hi girls. I’ve not missed an episode yet and I’m learning a lot. You’re both fun to hang out with as well. Ahaha lots of laughs and inside sewers jokes. Keep up the great work! Sincerely yours Susan.

Holding thread and using starter piece of fabric may help alleviate “bird nest” on bottom side of fabric.

I still use an old treadle. To help keep the rest of the shirt out of the way, I use a toilet paper roll. I cover them with anything and slit the roll lengthwise. Then roll shirt and put it on the roll where the slit is. I love you girls. Y’all even help and answer things I wanted to know and things I didn’t know I wanted to know. Thanks do muvh girls.

I would like to make a Coco Chenal type suit or dress. Do you have any suggestions for a pattern?

You talked earlier about using different threads, have you ever used anything other than all-purpose thread for making button holes?

I try to steam-shrink fusible interfacing, and follow the directions carefully but still get the “orange-peel” texture showing through the fabric. (Especially on quilt-weight cotton fused before embroidering). Is there a way to avoid that?

I have a question about sewing silk. What material do you use for interfacing — such as neckline?? And any other tips you may have on sewing silk.
    Thanks!

What is a benefit of sewing with a double needle? Are you able to show us what a double needle stitch looks like? I’d love to see a product that has that stitch used.

I am trying to add a piece on my square pieced block. You take a rectangle and cut kitty corner so when you add it the original square is tilted. I don’t know how to attach so it comes out straight edges. Help please.

For double needle stitching on stretch fabric, make sure the size of the “stretch” needle is appropriate for the stretch fabric!

Do you like using a 1/4″ seam allowance or a scant 1/4″ seam allowance and why?

Hey Michelle! You accidentally said the same amount for both numbers. If you wouldn’t mind giving me an update on which you meant, I can pass it along. Thanks!

I would like to make a Coco Chenal type suit or dress. Do you have any suggestions for a pattern? Answer for 1/4 inch and SCANT 1/4, I believe the SCANT is just what the name implies, move the needle a couple of stiches. Is that the answer?

What is the easiest way to put pockets into a purchased skirt or dress? Should I just go for patch pockets even though I won’t have matching material? Most of these skirts or dresses don’t have enough side seam to use for a pocket!

How do I sew stretchy material? What type of needle, best stitch and size? Do I need to change tension? Every thing me I try the material gets stuck in my machine.
