Turning a Purse Inside Out

NSC Question

Hi, I have a question about sewing purses and purse linings. How do you turn your purse right-side out after putting in the lining? Any help you can give me would be great!

It will depend on what technique you use when attaching your lining. If you fold under the top edge of the lining fabric and blind hand stitch it in place, as demonstrated in this video, you simply turn everything right side out once you are done, pushing the lining to the inside.

If you choose to machine stitch a lining in place, you would align the purse and the lining with right sides together and stitch around the perimeter, leaving an opening for turning. Then, you will pull the purse and the lining right side out through the opening left in the stitching, push the lining down inside the purse, and hand stitch the opening closed.

Hope this helps!
