Hi Ann. You could absolutely use a stabilizer and that would help eliminate the waviness. They also make a product called Knit Stay Tape that is meant for hemming knits. It comes in pre-cut strips on rolls, which can make it easier to use than stabilizer that you have to cut down.

Sometimes using a walking foot or roller foot can help as well. Some of the waviness can come from the fabric being stretched as it is pulled through the machine by the feed dogs, so a walking foot can help eliminate this.

I want to use sweaters and sew pieces together to look like a ninja turtle pillow with a textured background . Can i just cut out the pieces i need, or should I satin stitch and then cut them out?

Do I need a single hole throat plate to sew on knits? I am sewing on a Brother machine.

For a very fitted garment like a sari blouse, Do the armholes have to be smaller for a sleeveless blouse vs sleeved blouse. I always tend to have this problem of shoulder slipping off when I make a sleeved blouse whereas it stays in place with a sleeveless blouse. Where am I going wrong? Thanks

can you sew leather of a basic sewing machine? If Not what would you recommend?
