My daughter is 8 and we have made blankets together; however actual patterned projects are hard due to her attention span. What other projects would you suggest I try with her?

My favorite gadget for embroidery is the Loop&Tail wand. I get them at embroideryonline.com I keep several on hand and use it for snags in knits and sweaters too! Actually keep one in my car

Thank you so much! I have been sewing for years but it seems every person at the fabric store gives me a different answer to my questions. Keep up the good work!

Is there really a shelf-life for thread? Does it weaken with time or lack of proper storage?

When I am using a sewing needle for mending how do I mark it so I will know when to replace it. Right now I just use it until I start hearing ticking noise or it breaks. You do have any ideas for me. I love your program and hope it runs for a long time. Fil

How do you know the best thread to use for fabrics? How often should I change my needle on my sewing machine?

the bobbin sizes is an issue. I also got prewound bobbins but they bounce all around the race. How do I know what size to get?

How do I move thread from one bobbin to another? I ordered pre-wound bobbins in various colors and then realized the bobbins wouldn’t work on my machine! Won’t do that again!

What brands of shears do you prefer? I have tried several different Fiskars and all of them snagged on the fabric. HELP! Tired of spending good money on bad shears…

Gingher is a well-known, high quality brand. Karen Kay Buckley “Perfect” scissors, in 2 sizes; these have a fine serrated edge which sort of grips the fabric, but doesn’t snag. I love both. I only use Fiskars for paper.

I have had Gingher more years than most of you have been alive. Schedule professional sharping every two years.

Kai scissors, cut like a sharp knife through hot butter. The first time I used them
I Ran to my husband and made him cut with them, then I ran next door and had my quilting neighbor use them. I took them to my choir rehearsal and the sewers couldn’t stop using them. This a purchase I will NEVER regret. Expensive but worth every penny.
