Join Katrina Walker on Friday, January 20th at 10:00 am CT for a FREE Live tutorial. Ruffler attachments have been around for over 100 years. They look scary but they are easier to use than they appear and can be used to create a variety of beautiful gathered and pleated effects. A ruffler is more correctly a pleater, as it pushes a fold of fabric under the needle using a sliding bar. A ruffler can be used with a single layer of fabric to pleat or gather it, or it can be used to simultaneously pleat one layer of fabric while stitching it onto another layer. Thank you very much.
I’ve tried several polyester threads that are shredding. could you recommend a name for a thread for the ruffler?
